Vacancy Notice: Driver - Local Agent (Group V, Reference: 354793) - Administration Section
We offer
A post of Driver (Local Agent Group 5) in the Delegation’s Administration Section, under a fixed-term employment contract of 2 years, with the possibility of renewal under reserve of budgetary availability and operational considerations. For internal candidates holding an indefinite-term contract, alternative contractual arrangements may apply in accordance with institutional policies. The Administration team consists of 22 people in total, and there are occasional atypical working hours.
Under this post, the recruited person will be attributed to functions depending on the needs of the Delegation, and on the changes of these needs. The successful candidate will serve under the supervision and responsibility of the Head of Administration, to serve as driver with responsibility for transporting Ambassador, staff, guests, and goods.
Driver duties
The following main tasks and duties are currently required:

Driving Ambassador, staff and visitors within and outside of Cairo,

Dispatch of letters and invitations,

Collection/delivery of goods,
-
Maintain the Delegation’s vehicles,

Follow up of Car maintenance,
-
Co-ordination with other colleagues to ensure continuance of the service.
Other office assistance duties
-
Assist in clerical tasks e.g. photocopying, internal distribution of mail, etc.,

Assist in registration, customs and other procedures,
-
Co-ordinate with the Admin Secretariat for further information on the tasks assigned,
-
Perform any other tasks as required by the Head of Administration.
Competencies/Skills
Education:
-
Completed Secondary School or equivalent.
Experience:
- Qualified as a professional diplomatic driver (up to Ambassador’s level), with a minimum of five years’ relevant experience. The professional experience must be acquired after the date on which the qualification allowing access to the post was obtained,
- Additional driving skills and competences (such as Safety and Defensive Driving skills and the ability to drive Armored vehicles) are an advantage,
- Basic mechanical skills to manage the informed care/servicing of the Delegation’s vehicles,
- Written and spoken English and Arabic (B2 level of language knowledge (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) or equivalent),
Technical knowledge:

Valid Egyptian driving license,

Good driving skills and knowledge of traffic rules,

Good knowledge of vehicle mechanics.,

Commitment to safety and respect for traffic regulations,

Ability to carry out clerical work,
-
Basic computer literacy (i.e. MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
Others:
- Good communication skills as well as the ability to work in a team,
- High professional standards, including punctuality, discretion, reliability, confidentiality, personal integrity, and loyalty,
- Able to manage the car schedule program in an efficient and effective way and manage a time schedule,

Salary and Benefits:
The base salary will depend on relevant and verified employment experience, is typically starting from EUR 555 and payable in Egyptian Pounds based on the inforeuro rate of the month of payment ((see https://commission.europa.eu/funding-tenders/procedures-guidelines-tenders/information-contractors-and-beneficiaries/exchange-rate-inforeuro_en).

Start Date: The expected start date is 01/06/2026.
Minimum requirements / eligibility criteria (necessary for the application to be considered) are:

High School Degree or equivalent,
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience as Driver for an Ambassador or Head of International mission (verifiable via letters of reference). The professional experience must be acquired after the date on which the qualification allowing access to the post was obtained,

Excellent knowledge (B2 level in CEFR or equivalent) of English and Arabic (written and spoken.

Basic computer skills and knowledge of office software and IT tools (Word, Excel, Outlook),
