The EU in the G20

The G20 is the international forum bringing together 20 largest and fastest-growing economies. Its members account for more than 80% of the world's GDP, 75% of global trade and 60% of the world population.

The European Union (EU) is a full member of the G20, alongside three of its Member States who are also permanent members: France, Germany, and Italy. Spain is a permanent guest invitee to the G20 meetings.

This year and for the first time, Indonesia holds the G20 Presidency. For 2022, the G20 Summit will take place on 15-16 November in Bali. The Summit will be the pinnacle of the G20 process and intense work carried out within the Ministerial Meetings, Working Groups and Engagement Groups throughout the year.
