We support the goal of the draft law to align Kosovo's legislation with relevant EU provisions, including the Audio-Visual Services Directive. 

However, as the CoE report highlights, more work is needed on the draft to ensure that it neither undermines the independence of the IMC nor creates legal inconsistency.

We recommend that the Committee on Public Administration, Local Governance, Media and Rural Development of the Assembly allows time for proper consideration of the report, and consultation with media sector stakeholders, so that its recommendations can then be reflected in a new draft.
