Funded traineeship for young graduates at the EU Delegation to Liberia
We offer:
A traineeship of up to 6 months in 2026 within the Political, Press and Information Section of the EU Liberia,. The tentative start date is in October 2026.
Main tasks:
- Media Monitoring: Compile the daily press review by monitoring Liberian print, broadcast, and online media to identify key trends and issues affecting EU interests.
- Political Reporting: Conduct in-depth research on specific legislative developments (e.g., security sector reform, human rights) and contribute to the drafting of political briefings and reports.
- Public Diplomacy: Support the Press and Information Section by creating engaging content for the Delegation’s social media platforms (X, Facebook) and drafting press releases.
- Event Management: Provide logistical and content support for high-level events and press conferences.
Reporting: Attend meetings at line ministries, local and international partners or with civil society organizations and prepare high-quality minutes and summaries.

Qualifications or special requirements:
- Taking into account the local health and security conditions, only Liberian nationals currently residing in Liberia will only be considered.
- Be a recent University graduate (minimum a Bachelor’s degree)
- Candidates must have less than one year of professional experience after their graduation by the signing of the Traineeship agreement. (other traineeships or student jobs or volunteering works carried out during university or after graduation are not considered as professional experience)
- Excellent command of English (both written and spoken) is essential; ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise English is a must.
- Strong research capabilities and a keen interest in the geopolitical dynamics of the West African region.
- Proficiency in social media management basic graphic design is highly desirable.
- High level of adaptability to a multicultural environment, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

Important information to read before applying
Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship).
Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travels, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee.
Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidates are not able to present the required documents, their application will be rejected.
The traineeships can only be offered in compliance with the local legislation.
