EU in Malawi Oranges up for 16 Days of Activism

The Delegation in Malawi has oranged up the office building as a symbol of commitment to championing the fight against violence. The Delegation fence has also been illuminated with messages on Gender Violence in Malawi.

EU Ambassador to Malawi Rune Skinnebach hosted members of the Association of Women in Media (AWOME) on Thursday 23 November, to discuss the various issues that affect their reporting on gender based violence, to allow for media coverage to coincide with the national launch of the 16 days of activism on Saturday 25 November.

In this context, it was emphasized that the EU in Malawi is dedicated to working across all sectors in collaboration with the Government and like-minded partners in upholding dignity, ensuring access to justice, and promoting gender equality. This commitment extends into the future, with the goal of eliminating violence against women and girls being a collective aspiration until it is achieved.
