13th EU Human Rights Film Days

The Delegation of the European Union to Türkiye organises the EU Human Rights Film Days and Short Film Competition in December every year as part of marking the Human Rights Day.

This year, celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Film Days will meet the audience both online and in cinemas.

A selection of recent feature-length and short European documentary, fiction and animated films on the theme of human rights, yet to be released in Türkiye, can be seen:

  • at Ankara Kızılay Büyülü Fener Cinema, 7-10 December
  • on the Festival Scope streaming website, 8-17 December 2023
  • at the Istanbul Caddebostan Culture Centre Cinema, 14-17 December

Organised with the support of the diplomatic missions of EU Member States, EU Cultural Centres and with the participation of public institutions and local authorities, all physical and online screenings are open to the public and free of charge.

Film screenings will be followed by Q&As. All films in cinema theatres and online will be screened with Turkish subtitles. The online streaming platform will feature interviews with film directors.

The awarded films at the EU Human Rights Short Film Competition will be screened during the EU Human Rights Film Days in the cinemas.

On the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, we invite you to think and share your ideas about the inalienable and indivisible human rights through the medium of art.  #StandUp4HumanRights !
