Funded traineeship for young graduates at the EU Delegation to Ukraine in Administration Section
Are you a young graduate interested in international relations? Are you curious to learn more about work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in Ukraine?
A traineeship of up to 6 months in 2026 within the Administration Section of the EU Delegation, subject to availability of the budget. The tentative start date is July 2026.
Administration Section of the EU Delegation to Ukraine serves as the mission's central hub by seamlessly coordinating procurement, IT, logistics and infrastructure, HR, and accountancy to support diplomatic operations. This vital department manages the secure purchasing of assets and oversees the mission's protected technology framework to maintain uninterrupted, classified communications. Additionally, the team directs all logistics and infrastructure needs to optimize chancellery and residential facility management while supporting human resources through diplomatic accreditation, local staff management, and onboarding. By also managing routine accountancy tasks, this section ensures total regulatory compliance, strict fiscal responsibility, and absolute operational efficiency under international frameworks.
Main tasks:
- to carry out survey tasks in the fields of real estate, property&facility management, property’s energy efficiency, environmental management;
- to analyse EU policies, expertise and recommendations of the EU Head-Quarters, best practices in the industry and effective law (EU, Ukraine), relevant to various aspects of management of real estate property’s safety, energy efficiency, environmental management and greening;
- to update the EU Delegation’s list of vendors and economic operators in the fields of real estate, property&facility management, property’s energy efficiency, environmental management, events&hospitality;
- to contribute to drafting of reports and documents related to management of the Delegation’s real estate property and office space;
- to contribute to drafting technical requirements for procurement of contracts of supplies and services related to management of the Delegation’s real estate property and office space;
- to support the Administration Section in communication with other sections of the Delegation and with the Delegation’s counterparts and suppliers;
- to provide daily assistance for the Administration Section on various aspects of management of the EU Delegation’s real estate property and office space;
- to participate in meetings with counterparts and events attended by the Administration Section.

Qualifications or special requirements:
Due to the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine, only Ukrainian citizens currently residing in Ukraine will be considered.
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, business/facility administration, real estate management, civil engineering, construction project management or related field and completed or ongoing master studies;
- Very good command of Ukrainian language and very good command of spoken and written English;
- Very good command of main IT editing and presentation software;
- Good networking, interpersonal skills and attention to details;
- Experience in project management and facility administration;
- Service delivery orientation;
- Knowledge of Ukraine's institutional system and law;
- Experience in analysis and reporting;
- Experience in working in a team and in coordinating inputs from various colleagues

Important information to read before applying
Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship).
Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travels, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee.
Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidates are not able to present the required documents, their application will be rejected.
The traineeship can only be offered in compliance with the local legislation.
