Call for Expressions of Interest: Good Governance in Local Authorities Project

27.10.2025
Call for Expressions of Interest Zim

GIZ is implementing the Good Governance in Local Authorities Project (2024–2029) in Zimbabwe, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), which is jointly co-funded by the European Union (EU) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).

The project aims to strengthen the institutional framework for gender-equitable, transparent, and accountable governance in Zimbabwean local authorities. Its key focus areas include improved service delivery, local economic development, public financial management, councillor oversight, and gender and social inclusion.

Within this framework, GIZ is inviting expressions of interest from eligible non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to receive grant funding for initiatives that promote participatory platforms aimed at enhancing social accountability and inclusive service delivery.

Through collaboration with civil society, the project seeks to empower marginalised groups to actively engage in local governance processes.

This call covers the implementation of projects in one or both of the following priority areas:

  1. Social accountability
  2. Youth participation and inclusion
