International Women's Day, celebrated on March 8th, is a global day recognizing the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. It is about fighting for women’s rights, reinforcing key commitments and celebrating success. It is also a call to action. This year, the theme is "For all women and girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment."

To commemorate this significant day, the Delegation, under Team Europe banner, is organising a dialogue between young people and key stakeholders to discuss on the economic empowerment of women a key factor towards achieving gender equality. The dialogue will reflect on challenges, successes, opportunities and the work of Team Europe on WEE. The dialogue will focus on the following sub-topics:

  • Team Europe’s promotion of WEE and opportunities available for women
  • Legal and Policy environment for gender inclusive Economic empowerment
  • Up-skilling youth for readiness in the modern economy (digital, green skills)
  • Access to Finance and Investments for Women entrepreneurs
  • Challenges and opportunities for young female entrepreneurs
