The EU launches a Call for Applicants for the Youth Sounding Board in Zimbabwe

Team Europe is launching a call for applications to the second Youth Sounding Board (YSB) in Zimbabwe, a group of youth volunteers who will advise the EU Delegation and the EU Member States Embassies on youth inclusion in their programmes. The outgoing YSB composed of 14 women and 10 men, representing 7 provinces is the first Board to work with the EU Delegation in Zimbabwe. The 1st Board played a crucial role in the formation of the Board’s structure and functions and contributed to the formulation of the EU Multi-Annual Indicative Programme for Zimbabwe for the period 2021-2027.
The YSB is composed of 25 young people from Zimbabwe, who will meet over the course of their term to discuss and advise on issues such as climate-smart agriculture, green economic growth, human development, good governance, human rights, gender equality and women empowerment. The Board will also advise the EU on how to engage better with young people in its external action in Zimbabwe.
The EU is committed to youth participation and empowerment, and the YSB is a key part of this commitment. Through this unremunerated engagement, the EU invites youth to have a say on the needs and priorities of young people in Zimbabwe, and it will help Team Europe to better design and implement its external action in Zimbabwe in a way that is more responsive to the needs of young people.
Young people between the ages of 18 and 30 who are interested in applying to the Youth Sounding Board in Zimbabwe can find more information online at: https://www.eeas.europa.eu/delegations/zimbabwe/call-applications-youth-between-age-18-30-years-be-member-team-europe-youth_en?s=129 The deadline for applications is Wednesday 31 May.
