Strengthening the role of women’s rights organisations in the implementation of gender equality and women’s empowerment in Zimbabwe Reference: EuropeAid/186052/DD/ACT/ZW

Objectives

Overall Objective: to enhance civil society’s role in monitoring and strengthening accountability for the implementation of national, regional and international commitments on Gender Equality and women’s empowerment (GEWE) and Gender Based Violence. 

Specific objective: to strengthen feminist‑oriented women’s and girls’ rights organisations to design and implement actions that address concrete barriers to women’s and girls’ participation in local economic life, enhance accountability for GEWE commitments and test practical solutions in the selected agribusiness corridors. 

Who can apply?

Lead applicants must: 

•              be legal persons

•              be non profit making

•              be non governmental organisations (NGOs/CSOs)

•              be effectively established in Zimbabwe, an EU Member State, or another eligible country as defined in the basic act 

•              be directly responsible for preparation and management of the action

Co applicants and affiliated entities must meet the same organisational eligibility criteria. 

Geographic focus

Actions must take place in Zimbabwe, at national level and in one or more of the following agribusiness corridors:

Corridor 1- Masvingo, Mwenezi, Chiredzi, Beitbridge

Corridor 2- Mbire, Hurungwe, Nyaminyami, Binga

Corridor 3- Murehwa, Mutoko, Mudzi

Corridor 4- Mutare, Mutasa, Makoni, Chipinge, 

Corridor 5-Harare, Norton, Zvimba, Goromonzi, Marondera, Mazowe, Chegutu, Gweru, Vungu, Shurugwi

Available budget and grant sizes 

Total indicative budget: EUR 1 000 000.00

•              Minimum grant: EUR 400 000.00

•              Maximum grant: EUR 500 000.00
