This video show behind the scenes footage of both the EU Month closing concert in Zimbabwe as well as the two workshops that preceded the event.

What does it look like when two musical traditions, born thousands of kilometres apart, meet for the first time?

This short documentary takes you behind the scenes of Under the Same Sun: Where the Groove Meets the Guitar — the EU Delegation to Zimbabwe's Europe Month 2026 closing concert, presented in partnership with Sofar Harare.

Follow Spanish Flamenco guitarist Juan Cruz Palacios as he arrives in Harare and sits down, for the very first time, with master mbira player Jacob Mafuleni at his workshop in Tynwald — two musicians from different continents, different traditions and different generations, finding common ground through the universal language of music. Watch as he then joins world-class Zimbabwean guitarist Trust Samende for a rehearsal that hints at the magic still to come.

And finally, relive the concert itself — the EU Ambassador's welcoming remarks and the moment Flamenco guitar, mbira and Chimurenga guitar shared a single stage in front of a full house at the EU Residence in Harare.

This is more than a concert. It is a glimpse of what the EU's motto, United in Diversity, looks and sounds like when it comes to life — and a reminder that culture, more than almost anything else, has the power to bring people together.
