The European Union learnt with sadness the news of the passing of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain. We would like to express our deepest condolences to his family, to the people and to the Government of Bahrain.

As Bahrain’s only Prime Minister since the country’s independence, Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has been a leading figure in the modernisation of the country and the development of social, education and health services.

The European Union will continue to work towards consolidating a strong and enduring partnership with the Kingdom of Bahrain and its people.
