We offer:

A traineeship of 6 months within the Cooperation Section of the EU Delegation to Georgia, starting in September  2023.

The Cooperation Section is managing the bilateral development assistance portfolio to Georgia provided by the EU through the Global Europe financial instrument, reaching an average of approximately EUR 100 million and 200 projects per year. We focus on helping Georgia to implement the EU-Georgia Association Agreement, including the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area, as well as the Economic and Investment Plan with its 6 flagship initiatives.

Main tasks:

  • Monitor, analyse and report on developments in Georgia with relevance to EU programming and implementation of EU funded projects especially in the sectors of  the Green Deal, Connectivity and the Economic and Investment Plan;
  • Support to programme managers, Team Leaders, Deputy Head of Section and Head of Section, as necessary, including the trade and communication teams;
  • Engage in planning, organising and follow up of visits, events and conferences under the responsibility of the Cooperation Section;
  • Support the coordination of activities and meetings related to  the Green Deal, Connectivity and the Economic and Investment Plan;
  • Participate in meetings and report on them to the Section;
  • Monitor, analyse and report on developments in Georgia with relevance to the Green Deal, Connectivity and the Economic and Investment Plan;
  • Conduct supervised desk research, draft briefings and provide input to various exercises, including reporting;
  • Monitor the news and report as necessary;
  • Any other relevant tasks in the interest of the section.

 

We look for:

Qualifications or special requirements:

  • Very good command of English (minimum B2);
  • University degree (Master) in Political Science, Law, International Relations, Economics, Social Sciences, EU affairs, communication or equivalent;
  • Capacity to work in a multicultural team, good interpersonal skills;
  • Very good communication skills – both oral and written;
  • Familiarity with the Georgian political context.

Important information to read before applying

Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship)

Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travels, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee.

Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidate is not able to present the required documents, his/her candidacy will be rejected.

The traineeships can only be offered in compliance with the local legislation as well as the legislation of the country of origin.

Citizens from EU Member states:

  • must provide proof that they will be covered against the risk of a pandemic and the costs of repatriation;
  • must undertake to apply for a relevant entrance visa and / or temporary residence permit where applicable,  based on the traineeship agreement, the duration of the traineeship, and in compliance with the local legislation.

The Delegation informs that even if our Headquarters confirm the eligibility of the selected candidate, traineeships could be postponed, suspended or even cancelled considering the context of the COVID-19 in the host country as well as in the country of origin where applicable.
