We offer:

A traineeship of up to 6 months within the Press and Information  Section of the EU Delegation to Thailand, starting in November  2023.

The selected trainee will assist in the communication and public diplomacy work of the EU Delegation. The Section is responsible for maintaining relations with government and civil society as well as coordination with EU Member States on political and cultural matters. The Section also covers communication and information activities, including public diplomacy.

 

Main tasks:

  • Assist with the Delegation’s press and communication activities, including compiling daily press reviews, drafting press releases and media invitation, liaising with local and international media
  • Help develop and manage the Delegation's online presence (Facebook, Twitter, Website, etc.), including drafting, curating and translating contents in English-Thai and preparing visual materials for social media;
  • Support coordination with internal and external partners, including embassies of EU Member States, to support the EU Delegation’s communication, visibility and cultural activities;
  • Help design and organize public diplomacy events;
  • Co-attend conferences and seminars upon request and prepare reporting
  • Contribute to administrative tasks as required;

 

We look for:

Qualifications or special requirements:

  • Holder of at least a Bachelor degree in communications, journalism or a related field (must have proof of graduation one month before starting);
  • Interest in promoting awareness about the EU in Thailand through public diplomacy in contemporary communication trends;
  • Excellent English and Thai language skills;
  •  Ability to interact and communicate confidently and present own ideas;
  •  Very good coordination and prioritising skills;
  •  Very good analytical and drafting skills;
  •  Knowledge of contemporary issues in national, regional and global spheres;
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge in graphic design and/or creative VDO production will be considered a valuable asset.

Important information to read before applying

Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship)

Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travel inside the country of residence, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee.

Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidate is not able to present the required documents, his/her candidacy will be rejected.

The traineeships can only be offered in compliance with the local legislation as well as the legislation of the country of origin.

Citizens from EU Member states:

  • must provide proof that they will be covered against the risk of a pandemic and the costs of repatriation;
  • must undertake to apply for a relevant entrance visa and / or temporary residence permit where applicable, based on the traineeship agreement, the duration of the traineeship, and in compliance with the local legislation.
