Funded traineeship for young graduates at the EU Delegation to Uzbekistan - Political, Press & Information Section
Are you a young graduate interested in international relations? Are you curious to learn more about work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in Uzbekistan?
We offer:
A traineeship of up to 6 months in 2026 within the Political, Press & Information Section of the EU Delegation, subject to availability of the budget. The tentative start date is in April 2026.
The Political, Press and Information Section contributes to the Delegation's pursuit of EU policies, in promotion of EU-Uzbekistan relations, by analysing and reporting on political, economic and trade developments, promoting reform progress and improving the visibility, awareness and understanding of the EU in Uzbekistan.)
Main tasks:
- Supporting communication and visibility activities, including preparation and organisation of public diplomacy and outreach events.
- Social media and digital communication support, contributing to the Delegation’s visibility on social media channels and the EU Delegation website (content preparation, posting, basic monitoring).
- Media monitoring, research, and reporting, including tracking media coverage, visibility of EU actions, and preparing short summaries and reports.
- Information gathering and basic analysis related to EU activities, events, and communication priorities.
- Administrative and coordination support to the Press and Information Section, including logistical arrangements and internal coordination.
- Participation in meetings, briefings, and conferences, including note-taking and interpreting, when required.
- Compiling reports about internal developments and foreign policy of Uzbekistan based on open sources of information
- Help with other emerging tasks within the section’s portfolio.

Qualifications or special requirements:
- The traineeship is open to young graduates with at least Bachelors Diploma (or equivalent) in Journalism, International relations, Business administration, Management and other related spheres;
- Excellent spoken and written English, Uzbek and Russian languages;
- Strong social media and digital communication skills
- Proficient user of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work with basic office IT tools and online platforms (email, shared drives, web-based content tools)
- Willingness to learn additional communication tools used by the Delegation.

Important information to read before applying
Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship).
Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travels, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee.
Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidates are not able to present the required documents, their application will be rejected.
The traineeships can only be offered in compliance with the local legislation as well as the legislation of the country of origin.
Citizens from EU Member states:
- must provide proof that they will be covered against the risk of a pandemic and the costs of repatriation;
- must hold a relevant entrance visa and / or temporary residence permit where applicable, based on the traineeship agreement, the duration of the traineeship, and in compliance with the local legislation.
