Ahead of the visit the High Representative/Vice-President Mogherini said: "For the European Union the work with the Western Balkans, a region in the heart of Europe, is a key priority. I work to see every single one of the Western Balkans partners move forward on the reform path, towards the European Union, to ensure the process is irreversible. Regional cooperation and good neighbourly relations remain essential in this context.”

The High Representative/Vice-President will travel today to Podgorica, Montenegro, where she will meet with President Vujanović, Prime Minister Marković and Speaker of the Parliament Brajović and she will address the Parliament of Montenegro.

On Thursday 2 March, Federica Mogherini will travel to Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina where she will meet with the members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ivanić, Čović and Izetbegović, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić and she will address students of the University of Sarajevo. On the 2 March she will travel to Skopje, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, where she will meet President Ivanov, political leaders in the Parliament, civil society representatives, students, including Erasmus students.

On 3 March the HRVP will be in Belgrade, Serbia, where she will meet with President Nikolić, Prime Minister Vučić, Speaker of the National Assembly Gojković, members of civil society and opposition and she will address the National Assembly of Serbia. Later that day, the HRVP will travel to Tirana, Albania, where she will meet with President Nishani, Prime Minister Rama, representatives of Parliamentary parties, and she will address the University of Tirana students.

Finally, on Saturday 4 March, Federica Mogherini will travel to Kosovo. In Pristina she will meet with President Thaci, Prime Minister Mustafa, and Speaker of the Parliament Veseli and other political leaders. She will also visit Mitrovica.
