A group of Economic and Trade Counselors from EU member States' Embassies and from the Delegation of the European Union made a working visit to the State of Nuevo Leon on 22 and 23 March 2017. The Purpose of the visit was to acquire firsthand knowledge of the current situation in this State, especially with regard to business opportunities.

European investments in Nuevo León are mainly concentrated in the automotive and agri-food sector. The Directors had the opportunity to visit three European capital companies established in the State: the AIR LIQUIDE plant, which produces and supplies gases, technologies and services for industry and Health; The LEGO toy manufacturer, and Smurfit Kappa, which manufactures paper for corrugated boxes with 100% recovered materials. They also met with representatives of business chambers and the academic sector in order to strengthen commercial relations with relevant state actors.
