The 1st Indonesia-EU Security Policy Dialogue

The European Union and Indonesia convened the first Indonesia-EU Security Policy Dialogue on 25 May 2016, in Bandung, West Java. The dialogue addressed common challenges such as counter terrorism, counter narcotics, maritime security, organised crime, peacekeeping and disaster management.  The dialogue also served to coordinate efforts to prevent violent extremism and to address its root causes. The dialogue was led on the EU side by Head of Division for Counter Terrorism of the European External Action Service (EEAS), John Gatt-Rutter, with the presence of EU Ambassador to Indonesia, Vincent Guérend.
