On May 24^th, the Ambassador of the European Union to Mongolia Mr Hans Dietmar Schweisgut was awarded the Order of the Polar Star, the highest honour awarded to a foreign citizen by the President of Mongolia.

The award, for services to EU-Mongolia relations, was presented by Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr Munkh-Orgil in a ceremony at the Foreign Ministry.

On receiving the award, Ambassador Schweisgut said:   “I am honored and proud to have been awarded with the Polar Star medal.  I am a great fan of Mongolia, and it means a lot to me”.
