It is with much sadness that I learned about the sudden passing of Honourable Cabinet Secretary for Internal Security and Coordination of National Government, General (Rtd.) Joseph Nkaissery. 

Only last week I had the honour to meet him at the commencement of my duties in Kenya on 29 June. 

I would like to express my condolences and sympathy to General Nkaissery's family and loved ones, as well as to the government and people of Kenya.
