Statement on the terrorist attack in Burkina Faso

Burkina Faso and its capital have once again been targeted by indiscriminate terrorist attacks, which have claimed a large number of victims.

The European Union extends its sincere condolences to the families of the victims and to the people of Burkina Faso. It also expresses its solidarity with all the countries whose nationals were among the victims.

The European Union is working together with Burkina Faso and the other Sahel countries, particularly through the G5 Sahel, to combat terrorism and uphold the values of peace, freedom and diversity.
