Holding Company for Water and Wastewater (HCWW) - Technical Studies and Strategy Development (EUR 2.4 million)

The TA aims to Provide HCWW with a strategy and a master plan for Technical Losses reduction, improving the management of Reverse Osmosis plants brine disposal, updating the Rural Sanitation Strategy, and providing HCWW with a diagnosis and strategy implementation on pre-selected pilot.

Background:

Since 2007, the European Union (EU) supported the water sector Through total grants of €425 million leveraging €2.1 billion blending with European Financial Institutes, the EU support targeted four main pillars:

  • Investment infrastructure,
  • Capacity Building for demand-oriented and cost covering water systems,
  • Supporting new policies and strategies,
  • Direct and Indirect support to the agriculture field,
  • Creating job opportunities and increasing households income
