Climate change is one of the most serious threats facing humanity today. Preventing dangerous climate change is a key priority for the European Union. By 2030, the EU intends to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 40% compared to 1990 levels, produce 27% of all energy consumed using renewable sources, and increase energy efficiency by 27%. What needs to be done to protect nature from harmful influences? How do we improve the quality of life? What steps need to be taken on the road to a low-carbon future?

The EU Delegation to Russia together with the Heinrich Böll Foundation, the American Embassy to Russia, and the Swiss Embassy to Russia invite you to the ECOCUP festival of green documentary films, which will be held in Moscow and St. Petersburg from 27 November to 4 December.

During the festival, the EU will present 5 films: “The Green Lie” (Austria), “In the Same Boat” (Spain), “The Chocolate Case” (Netherlands), “Little Yellow Boots” (Finland), “Through my rear window” (Italy).

In addition, the parallel program of the festival will contain lectures and master classes by EU experts. How do you produce “green movies”? What was the Nobel Prize for Ecology awarded for and what does the climate have to do with it? How does one teach sustainable development? Guests of the festival will be able to talk with directors, writers and experts from the EU about these and many other issues.

The shows and events of the EU program will be held in Illusion Cinema, the Documentary Film Center (DFC), the Moscow School of Social and Economic Sciences, and the Moscow School of New Cinema.

Entrance to all events of the EU festival program is free. Registration is desirable.
