A joint UNICEF/ECHO communication campaign to raise awareness was launched today in Rome at the Italian High-school Liceo Classico Torquato Tasso, as part of a series of launch events during the next 7 months in Europe.

Stories of children living in emergency countries where education is often interrupted will be shared on social media through #EmergencyLessons  http://ec.europa.eu/echo/news/education-during-crises-eu-and-unicef-launch-emergencylessons-communication-campaign_en.

The EU Delegation in Rome participated to this event with the Head of Delegation, Ambassador Laurence Argimon-Pistre and the Minister Counsellor, Responsible for Humanitarian Affairs, Jan Artur Sienczewski, giving a speech and presentation on the importance of humanitarian aid.

Other speeches were delivered also by the European Space Agency astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti, and Marilena Viviani, Director of the UNICEF Liaison Office in Geneva.
