EU Ambassadors welcome Canadian Minister of Citizenship and Immigration

Canada’s recent immigration reforms, people-to-people contacts, and the issue of visa reciprocity for Bulgarian and Romanian EU citizens were discussed during a special meeting the Heads of Mission of EU Member States held today with the Honourable Chris Alexander, Canadian Minister of Citizenship and Immigration at the EU Delegation in Ottawa.

This is the second time the EU Heads of Mission met with Minister Alexander in recent past, as part of EU’s regular encounters with leading Canadian personalities and decision-makers.

The EU attaches great importance to the principles of mobility among citizens of Canada and EU Member States.

The EU Ambassadors and Minister Alexander also held a minute of silence following the tragic deaths of migrants crossing the Mediterranean sea.
